High blood pressure from herbs

I started your Lyme Protocol a little over a week ago. I started with the andrographis 1-4xs a day. I was then on the cat’s claw for 2 days when I noticed my blood pressure spiked to 139/85. Prior to this I have always had normal pressure 120/78. Could one of these herbs have caused this? I have since stopped the cat’s claw. Thank you for any information you can give.

There is nothing in the literature to suggest such a response from either herb however it is highly doubtful it is the cat’s claw. Because the andrographis can cause anaphylaxis it may be that this herb is causing the problem. Of all the herbs in the protocol andrographis is the one most likely to cause side effects.
