Herbs okay for cats?

Dear Stephen,
My cat tested positive for bartonella. She has bad arthritis now—will any of the herbs in your protocol help with that? Cats and herbs are not the best combination (bad taste)! Thanks.

Stephen’s response:
I would suggest the book Herbs for Pets by Greg and Mary Tilford. Cats are not able to take as many herbs as dogs for instance, many of them cause unusual reactions. The Tilfords’ book can help determine if they are okay for feline intake. That being said, many people are using the protocol to treat both horses and dogs with good success, I just have not heard of anyone using it with a cat. And, yes, if tolerable to them, these herbs will help.
