Plant estrogens

Dear Stephen,
I am extremely sensitive to plant hormones or precusors (for instance, using a very strong cup of chamomile tea to help me sleep, will spike my hormones the following day—it contains apigenin, which has benzo-like properties but also functions as a phytoestrogen). This makes certain herbs and essential oils impossible for me. I worry about resveratrol therefore. Will knotweed have a similar effect? Thanks.

Stephen’s response:
Resveratrol has been found to have some estrogenic properties. The only way to know if it will affect you negatively is to try it alone and see. If it does, I would suggest stephania instead.
