Houttuynia for bartonella?

Do you have an opinion on the herb houttuynia, which is being used by Dr. Zhang for bartonella? Do you know of any American herbs with similar properties? Also, do you have any specific herbal suggestions for bartonella that is causing neurological symptoms and has apparently crossed into the brain?

Houttuynia is a good herb but I am not completely up to date on its use for bartonella. There are many American herbs with similar properties including knotweed. For bartonella that has crossed into the brain I would suggest knotweed as it crosses the blood brain barrier and has many antiinflammatory and antibacterial actions in the central nervous system. Red root is important here as well.
