Red root tincture or whole herb?

I was seventeen (I think) when I had the ring on my thigh. A nurse said it was just a fungus, gave me a cream and said that it would go away. Yep, it went away. According to all sorts of tests I’ve been normal ever since. Ha! Last Nov.(’08) I was finally diagnosed with lyme. There may be a coinfection, we aren’t sure. In reading your book I think red root would be useful to me but you state that tinctures are not good in old cases, while dosages of this herb are only listed in tincture, so, to talk to my doctor, what kind of doses and preparations of this herb would we be considering?
Gee, I don’t recall saying that in the book. Red root is recommended no matter the length of infection depending on symptom picture. The tincture doses are as listed in the book.
